Water Requirements for Grasses.

Ornemental Grasses......

Water requirements?

Drought tolerance is often a natural appeal to native ornamentals.

Water requirements may vary from species to species, but one of the great attributes of these natives is the drought tolerance an established plant or field offers.

Other than moisture for new transplants, reasonably situated natives, free gardeners from the tedium of this care giving stage for plants.

Sometimes the challenge may be to much moisture in the garden.

These plants can often form a part of the solution.

Many natives do well in moist or overly wet soils. This is particularly true for rushes, sedge, cat-tails and certain restios.

New plantings require a drink more often than plants that have been in place for more than a year.

Once established, native ornamentals are as tough as anything you can plant in your gardens and require little.

Remember, when planting these and other plants in your gardens to plant like needs with like needs.

Sun/shade, Moist/dry, etc.
