Happy Mother's Day
May 07, 2010

You probably thought that I forgot about Mother's Day this year?

Readers that have been with me for some time, know I like to give tribute to moms world wide and many times I write a special tribute.

There have been times in years past I even have readers post a tribute to mom.

The truth is, I've been so busy that I haven't had the time to do, or give a proper tribute to mom this year :-(

So I have a few Mother's Day poems for all the moms out there.

Mother or mom, isn't simply the woman that gave birth to you.

Mom can be anyone that loved you and raised you.

She could be an adopted mom.

Mom could be a grandma or even a grandpa.

Mom could be a big sister or special aunt.

Mom could even be a big brother or your dad.

Mom is that one special person that put in the love you needed and the time to tend to your hurts, joys and daily troubles, as well as the person that you shared your happiness with.

My mom has be gone for more than four years now and I still love and miss her.

She wasn't perfect, but she was mom.

Mother's Day is celebrated in several countries around the world though on different dates.

For the United States and Canada, Mother's Day is celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May, but in many other countries Mother's Day is celebrated in an entirely different time of the year.

But what ever may be the date of Mother's Day, the spirit is the same everywhere.

On Mother's Day, we as children pay our humblest tribute to mom and thank them having us and providing us with the best of care and upbringing they know how to give, or could afford to offer.

In honor of all the moms out there, this is for you.

I'll be back next week as always.

God Bless You All.

The Hand That Rules The World

They say that man is mighty;
He governs the land and sea,
He wields a mighty scepter
O'er lesser powers that be.
But a mightier power and stronger
Man from his throne has hurled,
For the hand that rocks the cradle
Is the hand that rules the world."

~ William Ross Wallace

More Than A Mother

When God set the world in place,
when He hung the stars up in space,
when He made the land and the sea,
then He made you and me.

He sat back and saw all that was good,
He saw things to be as they should.
Just one more blessing He had in store;
He created a mother, but whatever for?

He knew a mother would have a special place
to shine His reflection on her child's face.
A mother will walk the extra mile
just to see her children smile.
She'll work her fingers to the bone
to make a house into a home.

A mother is there to teach and guide,
a mother will stay right by your side.
She'll be there through your pain and strife,
she'll stay constant in your life.

A mother will lend a helping hand
until you have the strength to stand.
She'll pick you up when you are down,
when you need a friend she'll stick around.

A mother is one who listens well,
will keep her word; will never tell.

A mother never pokes or pries
but stands quietly by your side,
giving you the strength you need,
encouraging you to succeed.

A mother is one who can be strong
when you need someone to lean on.

You're more than a mother to me;
a reflection of Him in your face I see,
a love that knows no boundaries.

I'm glad that you chose to be
all this and more to me.
You share a love that knows no end,
you're more than my mother,
you are my friend.

~ Kari Keshmiry

A Mother's Love

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.

There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.

There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.

For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

I Love You Mom

Mom's smiles can brighten any moment,
Mom's hugs put joy in all our days,
Mom's love will stay with us forever
and touch our lives in precious ways...

The values you've taught,
the care you've given,
and the wonderful love you've shown,
have enriched my life
in more ways than I can count.

I Love you Mom!

You Were There...

You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door...

You worry now "Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder"Where have my children gone?"

Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way, Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.

And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,
Because to us that will always be home...

"Treat the earth well:

It was not given to you by your parents,

It was loaned to you by your children.

We do not inherit the Earth from our

Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."
