EASTER LETTER
April 02, 2010
Hi,

Welcome everybody.

As with all Christian holidays, Easter has become quite commercial.

Type in Easter on your net search and colored eggs, bunnies and such pop up.

How confusing Easter must seem to someone searching or to other countries etc.

How sad.

This letter is me sharing my faith and beliefs, feel free to delete at anytime.

Read it through and prayerfully you might be blessed.

I have always believed that Easter or Resurrection Sunday is in the Spring for a reason.

Even in my younger days when I knew about Easter, but didn't know Jesus.

There was and is something special about spring and new life.

"Hope Springs Eternal"

Spring brings us hope.

Spring brings forth new life every where we look.

We can't wait for spring.

Every year we look forward to spring and new life it offers.

God, through his son Jesus promises new life to us if we ask him for forgiveness and into our hearts.

We are celebrating or remembering the most important weekend in the history of man.

From the arrest, trial, crucifixion, burial and resurrection of our Lord.

Yet Easter or Resurrection Sunday only rates as a religious holiday.

Nothing more, other than a reason get hand out candy and dress pretty.

At least Christmas gets 'National Holiday' status.

We know when Easter Sunday was.

We can only guess when the birth of Christ took place.

Why, when our Lord said the stones would give him praise if we didn't.

The birth and death of Jesus was in God's plans from the beginning.

And talked about throughout the 'Old Testament.'

This wasn't some last ditch effort by God.

Go back to the Garden of Eden in the book of 'Genesis' Chapter 3:15.

"I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed; HE shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel."

The prophet Isaiah Talks of Lucifer's fall from Heaven.

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground,

You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart:

I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north;

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.

Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, To the lowest depths of the Pit. Those who see you will gaze at you, And consider you, saying:

Is this the man who made the earth tremble, Who shook kingdoms, 'Isaiah': 14: 12 -16

Jesus himself said this

"I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven." Luke 10: 18

Yes, the stage is set and God is waiting for the right time to send Jesus to save his people.

All through the Old Testament, God needed blood sacrifice from His people.

He required the aroma of blood and burning flesh.

The death of a pure and perfect animal.

He insisted that we praise him and Him only.

With all that He showed his people, most continued to fail and choose false gods.

The time is set.................................

Jesus our savior is born in the most humble of settings and lived a humble life of hard, physical work (he was a carpenter's son).

When it was time, He was tempted in every way possible.

The man that knew no sin was tempted in ways that we are tempted everyday.

He had to be tempted and he had to pass the tests in order for Him to understand what we go through in out daily lives.

Then only way He could know and relate is to have been tempted Himself.

After the 40 day test, angels ministered to His needs.

When He started his ministry, He chose common people like Peter and John.

A tax collector in Matthew, considered by many as the scum of the earth back then.

He socialized and ministered to the poor, the weak, the not so good people.

As He said, "it is the sick that need a physician, not the healthy or well to do.'

This man Jesus, could calm the seas.

Spirits knew Him in the distance and would flee by His word.

He cast out evil and could raise the dead.

"Lasurus..... come forth".........................

Had He not called him by name, the whole cemetery would have gotten up and come forth.

How difficult it would be to know every thought from everyone around you.

And still love them.

I can't imagine what it would be like in my humanness to know when and how I am going to die.

Remember now....................................

Even though Jesus is God the Son, He is every bit human in the flesh too.

Satan goes through all the trouble to set a trap for Jesus (he does this for you and me as well, often years in advance).

Through God's great wisdom, He has confused Satan so he is clueless as to what is really going on.

Now................................................

Jesus makes it very clear that He is giving up his life, that it is not taken from him.

That He is walking in God the Father's will and this must happen for man kind.

On Palm Sunday the masses were cheering Him on, calling His name as they threw there garments and palm branches on the ground.

By Friday, many of these same people (paid off and strong arm tactics) were calling for his death.

You've heard the story and have seen pictures of...

'The Last Supper.'

Jesus, still teaching and pleading to his disciples.

Praying for them in the garden of Gethsemane before His arrest.

Arrested like a common criminal, the man that knew no wrong was going to trail.

Even then, He healed the ear of a soldier that was cut off at that time.

Harassed, beaten beyond recognition, denied by Peter, beaten some more.

Naked and humiliated.

Off to be crucified.

Crucifiction is the most repulsive, disgusting cruel way to die in all the history of man.

Crucifiction was a criminal's death

God's timing had it so Jesus, would die this death.

Again, dead flesh and blood sacrifice.

This time, God did it for us

For all time

The last and final covenant.

I'm not saying this is true or even the case, but I believe Jesus died of a broken heart.

Yes, I know He was hanging on a cross in pain and yes He was beaten half to death.

However, Do you recall when Jesus said "My Father, why have you forsaken me"?

Right after that he said "It is finished" and He gave up His spirit.

I think the separation from His father broke His heart and shortened His painful human existence on the cross.

A relationship so close and intimate, that Jesus was lost without His father.

Just my thought.

At that moment, the skies darkened and the earth shook. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. Mark 15:38 The curtain separated the Holy Place from everyone but the high priest.

The Holy Place was where the presence of God dwelled on the mercy seat.

The curtain was a constant reminder to the Israelites that their access to God depended on another physical human, and that this access was only granted through the physical works of the sacrificial system.

But by ultimate sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, we now have access to God through Jesus Christ, who is the mediator of the New Covenant.

For the very second Jesus died, the New Covenant came into affect.

God was in such a rush to leave the constraints of a man made temple, that He tore the curtain on the way out.

Can I have an AMEN?

Satan may have thought he had won the battle, but there was no battle.

Spoken words....................................

Words that can create a universe and everything within

Words that create angels (even fallen angels)

Words spoken and the keys of death are handed over to Jesus.

Nothing can keep Jesus down.

God knew this from the very beginning of time

That was the plan

Okay, so we have death and sacrifice, but what good is it if we don't have life.

Jesus arose on Sunday, the 3rd day as he sad he would.

Victory in His hands and promises and victory for you and me as long as we believe.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57

Through this ultimate love sacrifice, you and I can walk in victory today.

If you haven't taken the time to ask Jesus into your heart, there is no time like now.

HE HAS RISEN.

Well it is time for me to fly for now.

Thank you for allowing me share my faith in our risen Savior.

Before I go, here is your positive thought for your life.

Until next time,

God Bless.

On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them,

"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 'The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.'"

Then they remembered his words.

Luke 24:1-8

HE HAS RISEN.

HE IS ALIVE

WE WIN

A Blessed Resurrection Sunday my friends.

"Treat the earth well:

It was not given to you by your parents,

It was loaned to you by your children.

We do not inherit the Earth from our

Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."
