Easter Letter, 2012 HE HAS RISEN
April 06, 2012
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.” Revelation 1:8
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:1-5
I can't help but see God the Creator, God the Father, in everything I see.
But, He really speaks to me through nature and the skies that surround us.
Not only in the shear, complex beauty in everything, but the perfect rhythm, as everything moves in harmony.
The Swiss watch makers are envious.
Nothing says creation like the metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly.
Or, the recent letters on a bird's vision and hearing.
What would happen to all of our winged friends if they didn't have excellent vision.
If the design of their ears and feathers protecting them, how could birds ever survive?
There unique lungs and more.
but nothing says 'Creation' like......
The miracle of birth.
Where two seperate cells come together to create a whole other being.
"Let There Be"..............
Big Bang theories are interesting and I enjoy the 'what if computer graphics', but one thing is missing from all theories.
'Let There Be"........
I read once before, that if we could reach far enough out into the universe, we could still here those word "Let There Be".
I still like Dr. Wayne Dyer when he asks this.
When scientists suggest the universe is still expanding, Dr Dyer asks.............................
What is on the other side, and is there a wall?
I look into the skies and His tapestry so perfectly put together.
Not only for his glory and pleasure, but for ours as well.
Stars and galaxies were not randomly placed.
Grid patterns in the galactic universe prove that.
Stars have been placed for our enjoyment and human imagination as well.
The Big Dipper and Orion didn't just happen,
Just like you and I didn't just happen.
Great thought and design went into everything.
God's wisdom and spoken Word.
"Let There Be"..............
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. the earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.
And God Said, Let There Be ..........
Let There Be.
The universe and everything within (including you and me) were created by the word of God and the Spirit of God.
Life was good,
God called it good.
Life was perfect for all of the earth.
Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit).
The Triune God.
Until that moment when the devil deceived Eve.
God always knew Adam and Eve would sin against Him.
One of his universal laws is giving Humans the right to think and to make choices (good and bad).
If this weren't so, why didn't God scrap the whole mess and start over again?
No, the word promises a redeemer in Genesis 3: 14-15.
King David in the Psalms and the Profit Isaiah and others mention the Holy Redeemer.
With each passing generation, earth becomes more corrupt (and still is).
Yes, we live on afallen planet.
The bible talks about birth pains. More earthquakes, severe storms, famine. The word also talks about wars and rumors of war.
When the time was right, God the son came to earth a little lower than the angels as a human child (Jesus).
God's Master plan is now unfolding.
If you go back to the beginning, you will see that Jesus is known and the plan of salvation was always there.
God knew before the beginning that man would sin and needed a Savior.
Before creation, The plan was in motion.
Jesus replied, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven". Luke 10:18
God chose him as your ransom long before the world began, but he has now revealed him to you in these last days. 1Peter 1:20
Our Creator also knew the outcome.
Before His arrest:
"And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began." John 17:5
(There it is again Jesus before time began.)
Sure he is God the Son and knows he will be victorious, but how can any person (Jesus was still a person), willingly and knowingly be crucified to save others.
Jesus very easily could've called on an army of angels to rescue him.
"Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels"? Matthew 26:53
"No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father." John 10:18
Yet, he freely sacrificed his life for all of man.
Dig deeper into the story.
Not only did he suffer on the cross, but the beatings and humiliation before hand.
Once again, he freely gave into being whipped 39 times.
Not a normal whip, but a whip that had pieces of metal and sharpened stone wove into the straps.
A beating that was sure to rip flesh and cause maximum pain.
He was kicked, beat up and a few other humiliations.
Having his beard plucked from him a few whiskers at a time (beards had meaning to a man).
The ultimate insult is to be spat on.
Yes, Jesus went through a living hell.
All part of His Great Plan.
Yet he is victorious, which means we can live in victory as well.
But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death Is Swallowed Up In Victory. O Death, Where Is Your Victory? O Death, Where Is Your Sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:54-57
I don't have all the answers.
I do know that God's word is true, and His word does say he came that we can live more abundantly.
No, not everyone will have earthly riches, but we can have His riches which are worth an eternity.
We will continue to go through trials and tribulations.
Life will continue to have its challenges and possibly more so, but God always gives you a way out.
He is always in control.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5
Jesus himself said:
"I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Matthew 28:20
The Master's Plan.
Victory and salvation for the asking,
Only believe, ask for forgiveness as a sinner, and ask Jesus into your heart.
He is waiting.
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me". Revelation 3:20
That is Salvation my friend.
You may have heard of the 'Easter Story'.
The triumphant ride into Jerusalem on Palm Sunday.
The last supper with his disciples and once again foretelling of his death and why it must be.
His trumped up charges and judgement.
Jesus was crucified, died and rose from the grave victorious.
Yes, I can imagine the earth singing to feel him again.
But it goes much deeper my friend.
Jesus healed the sick.
He taught salvation and gave us the very simple map to redemption.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." Acts 16:31
Now here is where it really hits home hard.
Part of God's plan was for Jesus to willingly and lovingly lay down his life for us.
No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded." John 10:18
Why do I do these Easter letters and why do I mention God and Creation on a regular basis?
When some people are uncomfortable with what I say.
How do you explain that, you know, that you, know, that you know?
Because I am commanded by Jesus to do so.
I will continue to lose readers because of my faith, but He continues to give more.
"If we endure hardship, we will reign with him. If we deny him, he will deny us". 2 Timothy 2:12
"Those who honor me I will honor." 1 Samuel 2:30
"I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth" . Revelation 3:15-16
"The Greatest Story Ever Told"?
Without a doubt.
Well, it is time to fly for now.
Prayerfully we are friends and I will send you my regular Monday letter on the 9Th.
This letter is your positive thought for a lifetime.
He Has Risen
"Treat the earth well:
It was not given to you by your parents,
It was loaned to you by your children.
We do not inherit the Earth from our
Ancestors, we borrow it from our Children."
Ancient Indian Proverb
Your friend indeed,
Better yet, have them sign up so they can receive their own letters.
